Our Aims
Union Preparatory International School aims to provide young children with a stimulating, exciting, friendly and safe environment, where they can discover, communicate and learn to express themselves at many levels. Play is an essential part of this learning process, and is used to extend their boundaries through which children can begin to understand themselves and the world around them. Through play and activities, music and song, story and poetry, experience, observation and conversation, the overall object of our Pre-School is to provide the foundations on which to build.
Our aim is to meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each individual child allowing him/her to develop into a confident, competent caring and self-aware person, fostering positive growth and development and self -esteem in children.
We use The Early Foundation Stage Framework, which draws on the best findings and teaching practices of leading education experts. The Early Years Foundation Stage Framework sets the standards for learning development for children from 6 months to 6 years.
THE PRINCIPALS WHICH GUIDE OUR WORK:
- A unique Child – every child is a competent learner from birth who is resilient, capable, onfident and self- assured.
- Positive relationships – children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and teacher.
- Enabling Environments – the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.
- Learning and Development – children develop and learn at different ways and at different rates and all areas of Learning and Development are equally important and inter-connected.
